Aesthetic treatments
The two most common treatments in aesthetic dentistry are teeth whitening and veneers. At Länstandvården, we have specialists with extensive experience in both of the techniques. We use safe and modern methods that will give you a blinding and beautiful smile.
Teeth whitening
Teeth darken as you get older. This is because the tooth enamel becomes thinner and the slightly blue or yellow tinted dentin shines through. In addition, the teeth get discolored by certain foods, especially coffee, tea and wine. Smoking and snuff also discolor teeth over time. To get the white color back, you can bleach the teeth and make the dentin brighter, as well as remove stains and discoloration. A teeth whitening is carried out using a dental tray filled with a whitening gel that is placed on your teeth. How long the splint is allowed to stay on determines how many shades the teeth are whitened. After teeth whitening, your teeth are whiter, but it is important to remember that the discolorations can easily reappear if you continue to consume the discoloring foods.
Veneers
Veneers are, as the name suggests, thin porcelain shells that are made to mimic your teeth and fit into your mouth. The veneers are then glued onto the teeth that are damaged or discolored. Sometimes veneers are made for an entire front row of teeth and attached at once. Veneers look completely natural and are a smart and effective solution that gives you a beautiful smile for a long time.
